Description: Abstract: The Composite Land Records (CLRMN) theme consists of various arc attributes, seven logical region subclass layers, and annotations for display purposes. This theme enables the analysis and capture of information in the property appraisers computer assisted mass appraisal (CAMA) database which includes tax assessment, land value, sales, etc: as well as creation of official assessment maps. The CLRMN theme is an arc and polygon coverage with user defined attributes. Seven region subclasses are developed from polygon topology: 1. Public land survey system (pls) boundaries, 2. Subdivisions (sub), 3. Blocks (blk), 4. platted lots (lot), 5. parcels (pcl). Each region subclass is populated with user-defined attributes for analysis and cartographic display. Annotation is derived from the attribute fields. Purpose: The Arc/Info Region Data Model is used to maintain spatial accuracy and improve data application and retrieval. The region feature class will handle discontinuous and nested areas. Regions permit thematic data to be integrated into a single coverage. The primary advantage of the composite approach is that it is much easier to maintain cartographic consistency among the data layers. If the layers were maintained in separate themes, it is easy to see how over time, no matter how good the quality control, the data would become inconsistent and numerous polygon slivers would result when the different layers are overlaid. For this compelling reason, Okaloosa County has chosen the composite approach to maintaining the property data. The PCL.shp data layer has been created for the purposes of providing GIS users a mechanism of appraisement for parcels of land and their associated structures. Shape File Metadata: Data Maintained by the Okaloosa County Property Appraiser Property Values shown are from the previous year certified tax roll. All other CAMA data is from the current year. G.I.S. spatial data is from the current year.
